Explorer Tour
Learn about the complex molecular machines that underlie cancer. Experience UCSF's state-of-the-art electron microscopy and mass spectrometry facilities and explore the techniques we use to understand protein structures and their functions in cellular processes.
The mission of the Cancer Cell Map Initiative is to enable a new era of cancer discovery and treatment based on the complete elucidation of the molecular networks underlying cancer. We work toward understanding the complex molecular machines involved in cellular processes important in cancer using electron cryo-microscopy and mass spectrometry techniques. We are offering an introduction into how these techniques are used to understand protein structures and how they function in cellular processes through a tour of our state-of-the-art electron microscopy and mass spectrometry facilities at UCSF. A hands-on opportunity will be offered.
